Planet Earth 2.0 manifesto

Preamble

This manifesto is issued by an artist who has expanded the scope of human art into the realm of nature outside of the human paradigm. Its aim is to find the means to reconcile human nature and nature at large at this critical junction in time when civilization is unsustainable and nature is being decimated by the effect of human activity.

I explored nature for answers to our mutual survival challenges and I found (amidst the 3.8 billion years of field tested survival strategies in nature) new clues as to how nature managed to yield some 20 to 30 million well-adapted and successful survival solutions in as many species and how nature manages to sustain the lot within one single biosphere (Earth).

This manifesto is about art, discovery, and results. And, it is about the effect that these accomplishments can have upon human culture at this critical junction in our development. There is no use in denying that things have gone horribly wrong and that the thinking that got us here will not be the thinking to get us out of our current survival predicament.

I suggest that for practical purposes we refer to the world we have created up to now as “Planet Earth 1.0” in order to make a clear distinction between what we have and Planet Earth 2.0 which is the subject of this manifesto.

Planet Earth 1.0 is a generalization used to embrace the human idea of our current world. It can be broadly defined as a state of mind that is continuously informed by the reality of our individual and collective interpretation of life and of the world.

Planet Earth 2.0

Planet Earth 2.0, similarly, is also a state of mind. But, it is one that is nourished by a new interpretation of life and of the world resulting from a new partnership between humanity and nature.

Planet Earth 2.0, or the state of mind that gives it substance, has distinguishing characteristics that are unique to itself and that amount to a new way of thinking to address a new class of survival problems.

Following is a number of characteristics that provide the cultural contrast needed to distinguish Planet Earth 1.0 from Planet Earth 2.0

Planet Earth 2.0 emerges to reveal:

A global conception of human beings as diverse members of a single species whose future is commensurate to their ability to work collectively to stabilize and create a new world.
A global understanding that human nature is only our species' ongoing interpretation of the world and that human nature is separate from nature at large. Therefore, their mutual reconciliation is the first step forward before we can create a new world in partnership with nature.
A global curiosity to understand the natural earthly and universal applications of “SUFFICIENCY” as an instrument of measure and proportion for long term sustainable survival initiatives. Sufficiency is a critical new tool that comes from nature to human nature on Planet Earth 2.0.
A suitable global art form that is conceived to communicate and manifest the aesthetic qualities of our reconciliation with nature in order to make it possible for humanity to enter an “age of transition” from Planet Earth 1.0 to Planet Earth 2.0
“Data A” is one such global art form that is operable in that context and one that is fully capable to demonstrate all of the points that have been mentioned above.

Planet Earth 2.0 - First Step

Planet Earth 2.0 is born on this day of August 29, 2009 as witnessed by the names of those affixed to the attendance record of its appearance in the world at the Art Gallery and Gift salon exhibit at 1830 Del Prado Blvd. Cape Coral, Florida.

The centerpiece of this exhibit is a work entitled “First Step.” It is a visual interpretation of a larger work that is the “Proof of Concept.” This global work of art entitled "WPMP" displays all of the initial characteristics that emerge with the idea of Planet Earth 2.0.

WPMP (the Worldwide Peace Marker Project) is a work of art that eliminates the boundary between art and life so that a worldwide reconciliation between human nature and nature is established for Planet Earth 2.0. Beyond these first works lie many other first ever occurrences. After all this is a new world.

The Birth of Planet Earth 2.0 is an invitation to discover the remarkable story of its genesis, particularly the ongoing work of WPMP, its presence in four continents right now and its progress towards becoming a true landmark of human development.

I would like to point out one reason why WPMP is a perfect fit for humanity at this time.

Humanity must have hope for the future. WPMP represents the entire global human population. It is now possible for all to experience the reality that we can work collectively as a single species and begin to address the global agenda of survival problems. These problems can only be solved by all of humanity working together.

Moreover, WPMP establishes the spirit of World Peace to guide us through our transitional journey into Planet Earth 2.0.
